American intelligence agencies intend to use the analysis of messages on Twitter and Facebook for crime prevention. The FBI has announced a special competition to create a program dedicated to monitoring potentially dangerous activity in social networks.

According to the requirements specified in the declaration, the program “the robot” must be able to effectively scan the so-called social media, identifying the suspicious words , phrases and questionable activities that require the intervention of agents.

Program will have a real-time transfer tweets and posts from different languages into English. In addition, it is desirable that the robot should  analyze the received information about potential threats and display it on the maps in the form of color-coding. The preferred platform for this purpose called Google Maps 3D, and Yahoo Maps.

Monitoring will be carried out on sites such as Personal Video YouTube, Flickr photo service and a few others, reports the BBC. Examples of suspicious words are called gangs, small pox, leak, recall and 2600 more words.

Human rights activists have expressed their concerns about the new initiative. “Social networks bring together a lot of people – said of the British , Privacy International. – If some one come to the attention of special services, together with the hood will be dozens or even hundreds of innocent users. Law enforcers can drown in the streams of personal information of individual users precious for the users themselves, but completely useless for the prevention of crime. “
